YHWH repeatedly adjures Israel to repent and live, even as He utters prophesies against their wickedness. Indeed, in verse 17, He doesn't offer a "Pass-over," but a "Pass-through," a day of YHWH and those who desire it.)

Innocent victims of fraud in Minnesota and it's on Tim Walz's watch

KARE 11 Investigates: Evicted, homeless, paying the price for Minnesota’s fraud crisis
This KARE 11 investigation exposes how Minnesota's Medicaid fraud crisis is impacting vulnerable adults, specifically focusing on the story of Janelle Hansen, known as Sky, who became homeless due to alleged fraud by her caregivers (0:00-0:14).

Key points from the investigation:

Sky's homelessness: Sky, an autistic woman, was evicted from her apartment in June 2025 (1:34-2:48). She had subleased the apartment from American Home Healthcare LLC, her caregivers under the Integrated Community Supports (ICS) Medicaid program (1:53-2:18). She was unaware of the eviction, as she had been paying rent to American Home (2:18-2:25).

Allegations of fraud: The investigation found that American Home Healthcare was allegedly billing Medicaid for services they didn't provide (3:30-4:27). Another client, Kane Pence, provided evidence of being billed for services while out of state (3:51-4:12). Sky also stated she was billed for 12 hours of care daily but only received one or two hours (4:36-4:49).

Financial implications: Since 2022, American Home was paid over $2.2 million in public funds (4:50-4:55). The Minnesota Department of Human Services cut off funding in September 2025, the same day Kane testified publicly about the fraud (4:57-5:06).
Kickback allegations: The company, owned by Jamba Muhammad, is accused of illegal kickbacks, specifically paying a portion of recipients' rent (5:40-6:10). American Home was evicted from the apartment complex for not paying rent, even though tenants were paying their share (6:11-6:21).

Aftermath: Sky is now trying to remove the eviction from her record and find a new home (6:36-6:51). Her story has gained national attention and generated offers of help (7:06-7:23).

Corrie ten Boom tells this story most fully in her book The Hiding Place and in later talks and articles.

After the war, she was speaking at a church in Munich about God’s forgiveness and mentioned Ravensbrück, the concentration camp where she and her sister Betsie had been imprisoned and where Betsie died. As people filed out, she saw a man coming toward her whom she recognized as a former SS guard from Ravensbrück—one who had been especially cruel. He did not recognize her but told her he had since become a Christian, that he knew God had forgiven him, and then held out his hand and asked, “Fraulein, will you forgive me?”

Corrie describes being flooded with memories of the humiliation in the showers, the pile of clothes, Betsie’s suffering, and feeling utterly unable, in herself, to forgive. Inwardly she prayed something like, “Jesus, I cannot forgive him. Give me Your forgiveness.” She then made the choice of her will to extend her hand. As she did, she says she felt a current run down her arm and a love for this former enemy that she knew did not come from her, and she heard herself say, “I forgive you, brother, with all my heart.”

She later drew two main lessons from this:

Forgiveness is an act of obedience and faith, not a feeling; the feelings often follow the decision.

God’s forgiveness of us in Christ is the source and pattern of our forgiveness of others, even in cases of extreme evil.

See Matthew 18:21-35
